Website Validator

This program validates the html of an entire website at the press of a button. It's free. No ads, no tricks. I made it because I needed it at work and thought I might as well share it with others.

Download Website Validator
v. 1.0.5
for Windows (requires Java)

Validating a small website

You could use W3C Markup Validation Service url: https://validator.w3.org/

  1. Download and install Website Validator (WV)
  2. Start WV, using https://validator.w3.org/ as Validator url

Validating a large website

You should install vnu, running on a local Tomcat server (e.g. XAMPP on Windows), in order to avoid getting black listed at the W3C Markup Validation Service due to heavy traffic:

  1. Install XAMPP or Tomcat on your computer or a local server
  2. Download the latest vnu<version>.war from GitHub: Nu Html Checker (v.Nu)
  3. Extract war-file from zip and copy to your xampp\tomcat\webapps folder
  4. Point your browser to http://localhost:8080/vnu to make sure i runs
  5. Download and install Website Validator (WV)
  6. Start WV, using http://localhost:8080/vnu as Validator url

Report

After validation a report is displayed and saved in c:\users\<username>\Website Validator report. Make sure to copy reports you want to save, otherwise it will be replaced the next time you use WV.
